Dr Allender renews and extends link with Sichuan University in China

Dr Chris Allender re-visited the National Engineering Research Center for Biomaterials, Sichuan University, Chengdu in China during the week of 21st - 25th June 2010 to renew and extend the link between the Welsh School of Pharmacy and NERCB.
In addition to holding research seminars, Dr Allender held extensive discussions with Professor Zhongwei Gu, Head of the Institute, and his research team to explore further opportunities for collaboration between the two organisations. In addition, the possibility of building a relationship between Sichuan School of Pharmacy (one of the top Schools of pharmacy in China) and the Welsh School of Pharmacy was developed.
As part of the collaboration, Dr Allender returned to Cardiff with four researchers from Professor Gu's group to attend the 3rd Biennial International Symposium, "Cellular Delivery of Therapeutic Macromolecules" (CDTM2010), June 26th-29th 2010. Drs Bin He, Yu Nie, Gang Wang and Hongmei Song each presented a poster during the symposium and stayed on in Cardiff for further scientific interactions with researchers in the Welsh School of Pharmacy, including Drs Mark Gumbleton and Arwyn Jones.
This international link continues to be supported through the Royal Society China-UK Science Network Scheme.
