The Legal Studies module is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the court structure, procedures and personnel of the legal system of the UK and the EU. Issues also considered are: tort and contractual liability; common law and statutory remedies; and an introduction to employment law.

Who is this course for?
Legal Studies for Accounting and Finance is a stand alone 20 credit module on the Pathway to Accounting / Accounting and Finance programme. The course is part of the Pathways to Degree in Business from Cardiff Business School and credits can be applied to that programme, it’s also ideal for Professional Development or for those with an interest in the subject.
Learning and Teaching
Tutor-led classroom sessions, student-led seminars.
There will be two Saturday schools for Study Skills.
Your learning and teaching for this module is underpinned by self-directed study.
Coursework and Assessment
To award credits we need to have evidence of the knowledge and skills you have gained or improved.
On the Pathway Programme you will have formal assessments. These will take the form of class tests, written assignments, a course journal or a portfolio. Your assessments are designed to prepare you for further study in a degree setting.
