COURSE DESCRIPTION

Basic Counselling Skills II will give students the opportunity to extend their understanding and ability to use counselling skills through exercises, role-play and an individual course journal. Prior enrolment is essential.

Who is this course for?

This course is for anyone with an interest in counselling including informal helpers, voluntary counsellors and parents. The course will also help develop skills to support those who draw on counselling skills in the workplace, such as police work, social work, caring professions.

Lectures, directed student reflection, partnered role-play, paired discussion and worksheets.

To award credits we need to have evidence of the knowledge and skills you have gained or improved.

Assessment for this course:
Completed work sheets and week-by-week reflection submitted as a Learning Journal.

The most important element of assessment is that it should enhance your learning.
