Magazine Journalism

Magazine Journalism

Great for jobs

There are more than 8,000 magazines published in the UK – that’s a lot of jobs and a lot of different types of jobs in journalism.

Magazines are the most exciting, diverse and successful media products ever, incorporating everything from frothy celebrity weeklies, through beautiful fashion glossies, to political and business heavyweights.

Magazines are the perfect creative mix of words and images – in print, on websites, via apps and through social media. Someone has to create content for the 433 new magazines that were launched in 2012 alone – and there’s no reason that someone could not be you.

In fact, after studying Magazine Journalism at Cardiff there’s no reason you could not be launching a magazine of your own to join the growing list of independent titles published out of a passion for fashion, craft, food, sport, film, music or anything else. Magazine Journalism at Cardiff prepares you for all these possibilities.

The course can be studied as a 1 year Masters which includes a dissertation or a 9 month Diploma which does not include the dissertation. Applicants can select either option when using the Online Application Service.
