Evaluation of the 2006-2011 Census Programme
Introduction
The ESRC funded evaluation will provide an accountability for ESRC’s investment in the Census Programme 2006-2011 and the extent to which it has met its aims and objectives. It will provide an assessment of the quality of the service offered by the Census Data Support Units and an assessment of the quality and impact of the associated Census Development projects. It will assess the level of usage of the service provided by the Programme and its impact on academic users and the Programme’s impact on, and relationship to, related ESRC initiatives. It will comment on the overall successes and weaknesses of the Programme and provide guidance and recommendations on continued funding for the Programme beyond 2011, taking into account other existing data infrastructure funded by the ESRC and the three UK census organisations’ plans for the 2011 Census.
