A critical School

We address the grand challenges faced by human societies and places in the twenty-first century. We apply critical thinking and practical knowledge in solving economic, environmental and social problems.

We are based in a research-intensive university, and we are renowned as a School for the excellence of our research. Cardiff University is ranked fifth in the UK for the quality of its research and as a School we are in the top 100 in the World QS University rankings by subject.

Our research makes the connections between human geography and spatial planning. Our research led teaching bridges academic knowledge and real world situations.
