Academics from the School speak at the United Nations
27 May 2009
Professor Kevin Morgan and Dr Roberta Sonnino were recently invited to speak at the United Nations.

They presented their work on sustainable food systems at the United Nations annual Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD) in New York. The session, Regions Feeding Cities: Urban-Rural Linkages for Food Security and Vibrant Markets, was chaired by Bob Lewis, New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, and they were joined on the panel by George Matovu, the director of the Municipal Development Partnership in eastern and southern Africa.
Professor Morgan and Dr Sonnino took the opportunity at another session at the UN to present findings from their book The School Food Revolution: Public Food and the Challenge of Sustainable Development, and also to launch the book internationally at New York’s Institute of Culinary Education, an event jointly hosted by City Harvest, a charity that recycles unsold food for the hungry and homeless, and the New York City School Food office.
