'Best Student Paper' Award
18 June 2010
Owen Hughes, a MSc Transport and Planning student, won the 'Best Student Paper' Award at the CILT Cymru National Transport Awards.
Owen’s paper provided a good analysis of potential public transport improvement opportunities within the specific metropolitan area of Liverpool. Consideration was given to current documents which outlined the strategies for each area, while theory and practice from elsewhere was drawn in to provide an evidence base as to the benefits and concerns with each solution.
He was presented with his trophy, 'Y Ddraig' (The CILT Cymru Welsh Dragon) by Rhodri Morgan, the former First Minister, at the recent National Transport Awards, and the MSc Transport and Planning course was presented with one too.
