Planning and Real Estate
This module provides students with an understanding of key concepts, techniques and trends associated with land and property development in market economies. It comprises three sections, each of which includes lectures and one piece of coursework. The first section is an introduction to property development and methods of property appraisal. This is followed by an examination of theories and models of property development. The third and largest section is delivered and assessed by practitioners from the former Welsh Development Agency, and includes discussion of case-studies of property development and its interaction with land use planning, drawn mainly from south Wales.
