Qualifications

BSc Zoology (1997) University of Reading.
MSC Biodiversity and Conservation (1999) University of Leeds.
PhD (2008) University of Manchester, ‘Social representations of hydrogen in the context of a community-owned, wind energy generation project’.

Research Interests

Fionnguala’s research interests span investigating social and psychological aspects of renewable energy technologies and infrastructure, including public engagement with renewable energy, public understandings of the electricity network, and expert and lay understandings of ‘smart grids’. She is currently working on the Delivering Renewable Energy Under Devolution (DREUD) project at Cardiff with Richard Cowell.
