Dr Gareth Enticott - Research Interests
3. Public Sector Failure and Modernisation
I am interested in the management of the public sector, and the various modes and technologies of government used to avert failure or encourage performance improvement. These interests relate to the governance of animal health, rural governance and local government modernisation. This research focuses on:
- The impact of calculative technologies, particularly target setting;
- The impact of partnership forms of governance;
- Reasons for failure in the public sector;
- The impact of devolution upon the governance of animal health; and
- The impact of local government modernisation upon rural policy, town planning and sustainability.
