Dr Gareth Enticott - Research Interests
2. Natures in Rural Communities
More broadly I am interested in the role of nature-society relations in the creating, sustaining and changing rural communities and rural space. This research focuses on:
- Understandings of risk and food safety by rural communities;
- The impact of post-productivism on animal health;
- The contribution of controversies over nature to the differentiated countryside;
- The future of rural space and agriculture from the threats of endemic animal disease; and
- Theoretical approaches to understanding the “rural community”.
