Supporting health and well-being

Cardiff regularly receives plaudits for its high quality of life. Yet alongside the pockets of deprivation across the city region, there are highly variable opportunities and circumstances in terms of health and well-being.

A critical challenge for the Cardiff Capital Region is thus how to develop an ambitious agenda focused on social, economic and ecological projects that could have a transformative effect on the region's health, wealth and well-being.

As well as some clear challenges in this regard, there are also clear opportunities with the coastal zone and Valleys Regional Park amongst others presenting rich, untapped resources for enhancing health and well-being and as sites for the development of job opportunities through active and leisure tourism.

City Region Exchange will develop engagement projects which seek to advance our understanding of these various challenges and opportunities, and propose ways and means to respond effectively to them.
