About us

We provide high performance computing services for researchers who need additional computing power to solve complex problems.

We also work with clients and partners outside the University through a range of outreach activities and play a key role in HPC Wales, which makes High Performance Computing available to businesses and academia across Wales.

Our team is available to support you with your research needs through a range of services. We also offer expert advice, guidance and training in using the facilities.

We provide access to supercomputing tools and resources including computer simulation and modelling, manipulating and storing large amounts of data, and many other methods to solve research problems that would otherwise be impractical.

Governance

We are governed by the ARCCA Oversight Group and the ARCCA Operational and User Group.

The ARCCA Oversight Group includes senior academic staff who provide strategic direction on HPC developments within Cardiff University. They ensure that our priorities are consistent with the requirements of the research community and wider university strategies.

The ARCCA Operational and User Group provides advice and guidance on user needs and requirements of the research community. Group members come from Schools from across Cardiff University, from current users to non-traditional users of High Performance Computing.
