Our students

Our MA programme attracts a wide-range of students from the UK and around the world who form a dynamic, collaborative peer group.

We are committed to ensuring you have the best possible academic and pastoral experience when you study with us, and our interest in your success continues after you leave.

During the course this year I have been afforded many different opportunities […] The MA programme’s flexibility has enabled me to specialise in fields that are of specific interest to me, such as sociolinguistics, Welsh history and culture, and translation, which has ultimately led to securing a full time role as a translator with the National Museum of Wales.

Meet Adam

Adam Barnett has recently completed his master's studies with us. Originally from the United States, Adam wanted to learn about Wales and Welsh culture.

He’s enjoyed the flexibility of the programme which allowed him to tailor his learning to his interests. Watch Adam's video to find out why Cardiff University was the right choice for him.

International

We welcome international students who wish to explore aspects of Welsh and Celtic language, culture and literature.

You will be able to study through the medium of Welsh and/or English.

Should you wish to learn Welsh while studying with us, language tuition is available and you would also be eligible to participate in our Welsh for All programme.
