I've been surfing since I can remember. The feeling of being in the ocean, for me, it's like coming home. Breathing in the fresh air, it's like a weight is lifted off your shoulders.

With my surfing, I have a real love for traveling, and I always thought I'd love to take my career with me, just take my surfboard and myself. I was always really interested in being able to affect people with my own hands, with the skills that Cardiff University has given me. It's facilitated me doing what I love with my surfing, along with my career in physiotherapy.

Elite surfing isn't a very well-known sport, so people struggle to understand the competitive side of it. It's so much more than just your performance in the water. You have to be thinking about your training on land, your nutrition. High performance has played a massive role in my university life, in my academics, and in my surfing. The commitment, hard work, and passion I have for both surfing and physiotherapy really drives me, motivates me to work hard, to be the best I can be in both areas.
