Developing a Commercially Viable Toolkit for Evaluating Spectator Environmental Engagement at Sport Events

Assessing market demand for a spectator engagement measurement ‘toolkit’ and opportunities for future commercialisation.

About

Sustainability has become a central focus for sports event organisers, driven by growing environmental concerns and rising expectations from fans and stakeholders. Many event organisers are developing sustainability initiatives aimed at encouraging fans to adopt more sustainable behaviours.

However, there is currently a lack of structured, data-driven measurement tools to assess the effectiveness of these efforts and demonstrate impact to sponsors and other stakeholders. The development of such tools would support organisers in refining, optimising, and expanding these initiatives, leading to greater impact on fan engagement and progress towards sustainability goals.

This project assesses the market demand for a spectator engagement measurement ‘toolkit’ and identify further resources required to facilitate its commercialisation.
