Technical specification

Leica DMIRB wide field microscope with the following Filter cubes:

  • Leica Code A- UV- BP 340-380nm,
  • Leica Code I3 (Blue) BP 450-490 nm
  • Leica Code N2.1 (Green) BP 515-560nm

The system has also filter wheels/Triple band filter sets (Chroma Technology Corp) allowing for Single band excitation for DAPI/FITC/Texas Red The system is operated by Openlab 5.5.0 Software.

Charges are for a single session. To allow multiple users to use this system please limit the time on this apparatus to 2 hours.

Long experiments (>3 hrs) should be discussed with one of the facility supervisors.

External users

For industrial usage please contact the facility supervisor.

Training and support

Before you undertake unassisted use you must have received training from either Arwyn Jones, or Edd Sayers (sayersej@cardiff.ac.uk).

Training is available for new users and this is free of charge.
