LAM revalidation highlights WSA’s excellence

Malaysia’s national Board of Architects confirms revalidation of the Welsh School of Architecture’s BSc and Master of Architecture courses.
WSA’s commitment to quality is reflected in the renewal of Lembaga Arkitek Malasia (LAM)’s validation of both its bachelor of science and master of architecture degrees.
We’re absolutely delighted to achieve LAM revalidation of our BSc and MArch programmes and extend our thanks to the Malaysian Board of Architects validation panel for such a valuable and collaborative process.
The revalidation renewal looked in detail at all aspects of the degrees and particularly commended the supportive and innovative studio culture, contextual design approach and pursuit of internationalisation, which brings global perspectives to project work.
It also drew on the insights of both current and former Malaysian students, with the commitment and approachability of academic staff alongside exceptional studio spaces and teaching facilities widely recognised as standout features.
With both courses already accredited by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), LAM revalidation means that graduates with a Welsh School of Architecture degree will continue to be able to practise architecture in Malaysia as well as the UK, subject to the completion of an (accredited) final part of their architectural qualification.
The LAM validation panel said: “We congratulate the Welsh School of Architecture, Cardiff University, for the successful validation of its architecture programmes”.
“We would like to express deep appreciation to the administrative and academic members of The Welsh School of Architecture led by Professor Juliet Davis for the cooperation, arrangements, and hospitality given throughout the validation visit.”
The Welsh School of Architecture has a longstanding history of welcoming students from Malaysia, most recently as a result of a new articulation agreement with Taylor’s University.
