The 2023 cohort of DSV's Accelerate Programme has graduated after a year-long journey which included intensive training, projects, assignments, and presentations.

DSV, a Danish transport and logistics company has signed a strategic partnership with Cardiff University to facilitate closer cooperation around innovation, research, staff development, student futures, and international business development.

The DSV Solutions Accelerate Programme aims to support ambitious achievers within DSV to grow professionally and accelerate their careers for future senior manager and solution designer roles.

Cardiff Business School’s PARC Institute has helped to facilitate the Accelerate Programme, with academics delivering training over the past year on topics such as the circular economy, operations management, inventory and transportation planning, and manufacturing management.

The final week of the programme took place in Venlo in January 2024, where participants took part in a training course focused on the practical application of continuous improvement tools, including Lean Six Sigma. As the programme drew to a close, cohort members presented the outcomes of their virtual projects to senior DSV staff and Professor Aris Syntetos, Distinguished Research Professor and DSV Chair at Cardiff University.

"Working with colleagues from industry and influencing real-world practices is the raison d'être of the PARC Institute, and one of the main objectives of Cardiff University's strategic partnership with DSV. I was delighted to attend the graduation event and proud to see another group of amazing and talented young people from DSV becoming part of Cardiff Business School's family. On behalf of Cardiff University: congratulations to all. Well done!"

Juliana Garcia, DSV participant said: “our training at Cardiff University was amazing. It was a week full of knowledge, learning about the circular economy, forecasting, and transportation among other topics. And understanding how the academy and businesses can join forces to work together to identify opportunities and improvements was really interesting to me.”
