Palliative care CPD training courses

At Cardiff University, we offer a suite of short CPD courses and postgraduate programmes in Palliative Care. Our short courses include face-to-face sessions and blended learning options. Our renowned MSc in Palliative Care is also a blended learning programme, designed to fit alongside work and home commitments.

Short CPD courses
|Palliative Care||Register your interest||The MSc/Diploma delivery team have developed this two-day face-to-face CPD course as a response to the rising morbidity and mortality of incurable conditions. It provides a good grounding in palliative medicine and care, covering: cancer, dementia, end stage respiratory and end stage cardiac conditions.|
|Problem Solving in Paediatric Palliative Care||2 March - 8 June (4 sessions)||A Masters level short course in paediatric palliative care. Organised by Cardiff University in collaboration with Ty Hafan Children’s Hospice and the All Wales Managed Clinical Network for Children’s Palliative Care. This blended learning course includes 4 face-to-face sessions, as well as online learning.|
|Masterclass in Palliative Care||Register your interest||For more than thirty years, professionals working in palliative care around the world, have updated and expanded their knowledge and skills by attending the Oxford Advanced Course in Pain and Symptom Management. Now, in partnership with Sobell House Hospice in Oxford, Cardiff University is hosting a one day Palliative Care Masterclass based on this course.|
|Palliative Medicine for Health Care Professionals (MSc)||3 years||The MSc in Palliative Medicine for Health Care Professionals provides high quality distance education for clinicians working with neonates, children and adults in many different settings in all parts of the world.|
|Cardiff 2020. A celebration of 30 years of palliative care education from Cardiff||2 - 3 April||The impact of University programs in palliative medicine and care can be seen locally, nationally and internationally. There is still an urgent need to educate health care professionals in developing and delivering sustainable palliative care to populations around the globe.This conference will celebrate the work of all alumni from the MSc course. There will be opportunity to hear keynote speakers talk about innovations and for course participants to submit posters demonstrating their work. Some skill-based workshops will complement the plenary sessions, with participants choosing from teaching skills, team working and leadership and quality improvement.|
