Graduate Victoria Savage has won New Professional of the Year in the Constructing Excellence G4C (Generation for Change) awards.

The New Professional of the Year Award is given to candidates who have completed professional studies within the construction and built environment sector within the past 36 months, and who ‘demonstrate excellence in the industry: striving to make great contributions to the industry while demonstrating exemplary performance in their field of expertise standing out from their peers’.

Victoria, an architect at Scott Brownrigg, graduated with Merit from the Welsh School of Architecture’s Diploma Professional Practice (DPP) in 2018. Prior to that she also completed the BSc and MArch at the school.

In relation to the DPP, Victoria said:

“The recognition that Professor Lupton’s course instils is that of confidence in ability and demonstrates that its alumni don’t ever scrape the mark to simply pass the exam but go the extra mile to make sure they can do their job well. I would recommend the DPP course at the Welsh School of Architecture to anyone wanting to not just pass the final exam but seeking to begin practice in the profession as they mean to go on - to the very best of their ability.

Thank you Manos Stellakis and Sarah Lupton for leading me through my professional studies, I’m very proud to be Welsh School of Architecture alumnae.”

The Diploma Professional Practice is directed by Professor Sarah Lupton, who also directs the new Master of Design Administration.

Sarah is happy to answer queries on either programme, please email lupton@cardiff.ac.uk.
