Whether you want to try a new language or improve an existing one, we have a variety of languages and levels for you to choose from.
Languages for All
Open up a world of new destinations, inspiring cultures and exciting career options by signing up for a free language course.
We currently offer nine languages as weekly courses, and run many of these as crash courses. You can also get further practice or try a new language by utilising the autonomous learning option. This includes a variety of physical and online library resources and language exchange opportunities.
Applications for weekly courses open on the 12 September. Further information on these courses can be found on the student intranet which you can access after enrolment.
If you are just starting your undergraduate degree, we recommend waiting until next semester to take up a new language. Applying a little later on will give you time to settle in and adjust to university life.
Welsh for All
Many employers and companies are looking for graduates who can communicate through the medium of Welsh. Our free Welsh for all programme is your opportunity to take advantage of expert, professional provision at a variety of levels.
The programme is set up to run alongside your studies, so you can fit your language learning around your studies. We run weekly courses during the semester and currently offer crash courses at beginners level.
If you are a current student, you can study, work or volunteer abroad through our Global Opportunities scheme.
