Statement issued to The Tab - 03/06/21

We are aware a Cardiff University student has been charged in relation to a serious offence. The student has been suspended with immediate effect from their programme of study pending the legal outcome. It would be inappropriate to comment further on an individual and on-going case, however the University has robust student behaviour and fitness to practice procedures for appropriate action to be taken. Whilst our immediate thoughts are with the victim and their family we appreciate this may also cause concern amongst some of our students. We have already reached out to our medical students and we would urge any student impacted by this incident to contact our student support services and access the advice and support that’s available.
