Research

The research design for IMITATE3 is multi-method, multi-sited, cross-platform, and encompasses both primary and secondary analysis.

This will enable us to build an understanding of the mechanics and dynamics of information operations via a variety of vectors and perspectives.

The project includes:

  • Data Collection: Using open APIs and other tools to gather large-scale social media data on state-led information campaigns
  • Election Analysis: Studying information campaigns in over 100 countries with the 2024 elections
  • Framework Development: Creating standardised methods to compare influence operations and measure their impacts using current conflicts as case studies
