IMITATE3 is a collaboration between a consortium of university partners in the UK.
The partnership includes University of Bath, Cardiff University, and Coventry University.
Cardiff University
With an established reputation as a global thought-leader in foreign-state information operations and strategic communications research, Cardiff University has worked extensively with the UK Government since 2018, specializing in open-source analysis of information influence operations across 25 countries. Their work has been published across a series of peer-reviewed publications in leading international journals and major reports.
Coventry University
Coventry brings expertise in qualitative methodology to lead two key work packages for the project, producing ‘rich picture’ insights about the organisation, conduct and impacts of foreign-state information influence operations.
University of Bath
Bath researchers specialize in Natural Language Processing for large, unstructured datasets, adapting methods previously used in research on radicalization to address state-backed information threats.

IMITATE3 is working in close partnership with colleagues at the Universities of Princeton and Columbia, in the United States.
