Kevin is interested in deployments of critical pedagogy in both educational and non-educational spaces, and draws on various dimensions of curriculum theory, critical theory and cultural studies in examining the interplay between the politics of curriculum and its impact on teacher education, classroom practices and student orientations to schooling.

Current Research

Kevin is currently conducting research for a WISERD Education longitudinal study of secondary and primary students in schools in Wales

Bywgraffiad

 Prior to joining WISERD in February 2013, Kevin worked in Nuku$acirc; alofa, Tonga as the Fellow in Curriculum at the Institute of Education with the University of the South Pacific. Kevin also worked for six years as a secondary school teacher in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. During this time, he completed a research and teaching fellowship with the University of Wales Trinity St David in Camarthen, Wales conducting ethnographic research and delivering lectures on social inclusion and cultural studies. Kevin completed his PhD in 2010 at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, USA. His doctoral thesis was a critical discourse analysis of Developing the Curriculum Cyrmeig.
