Breaking Boundaries conference

The interdisciplinary arts, humanities and social sciences postgraduate conference led by and for postgraduate researchers.

Breaking Boundaries Conference 2023 is an annual arts, humanities, and social sciences conference hosted by and for postgraduate research students. This year’s conference will take place in person.

Date and Time: Wednesday 14 June 2023, 09:00 – 17:00

Venue: Doctoral Academy, Cardiff University, 1-3 Museum Place, Cathays, Cardiff, CF10 3RL

We invite all postgraduate research students from GW4 universities (Bristol, Bath, Cardiff and Exeter), Cardiff Metropolitan University, and the University of South Wales to come together and share their research in a relaxed and cooperative environment. All arts, humanities, and social sciences disciplines are welcome and we especially welcome interdisciplinary presentations!

We are inviting submissions for both paper (talk) and poster presentation. You are invited to explore the ideas and history behind the varied and interdisciplinary topics aiming to shape brighter future for the later generations. The changes can come from everywhere, in every field and are often interdisciplinary; and we believe all fields of research have new ideas and interpretations to contribute.

The conference welcomes everyone whether you want to present your ideas or just network with other postgraduate research students. Exhibiting your research is not limited just to presenting papers (talks), we also welcome poster submissions for those whose ideas are best articulated visually. Prizes will be awarded for best talk and poster.
