Leading Wales' green recovery

We're helping to create a sustainable future by building on the ways people are reconnecting with nature and our planet.

We're committed to taking action on sustainability, leading by example and improving our own environmental performance. We're building an inclusive, sustainable, and resilient future to bring about environmental benefits not only to Cardiff but to the wider world.

We're promoting sustainability through our teaching, sharing of our innovative research and through public engagement activities. Our staff and students are making positive changes to our environmental impact, in particular through our declaration of a Climate Emergency, and our aim to become carbon net zero by 2030.

Connecting our communities with nature

Through our Innovation For All scheme, we're supporting exciting local projects using shared green spaces to inspire pride in communities, bring people together, improve wellbeing and boost investment in local economies.

Our Green Social Prescribing project in Abercynon is creating an interactive, community-developed nature trail in the Cynon Valley, serving the local community to promote improved wellbeing and long-term health outcomes.

With our Pharmabees programme, we're exploring how pollinators could help in the fight against superbugs. Combining cutting edge research with community engagement, we're inspiring people across Cardiff to take part and help create a greener, bee-friendly city.
