Our collaborations

Airbus Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security Analytics

A £5m partnership between Cardiff University and Airbus led to the development of the Airbus Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security Analytics. The centre works across industry, academia and government to provide a focus for cyber security analytics in the UK.

Researchers from Cardiff University partner experts from Airbus to carry out research and studies into machine learning, data analytics, and artificial intelligence for cyber-attack detection.

PETRAS National Centre of Excellence for IoT Systems Cybersecurity

PETRAS (Privacy, Ethics, Trust, Reliability, Acceptability, and Security) National Centre of Excellence for IoT (Internet of Things) Systems Cybersecurity will research opportunities and threats that arise when Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technologies move from being centralised systems to operating at the periphery of the internet and local IoT networks.

We will lead the safety critical systems stream of the Centre which forms part of the UK Government’s wider initiative to become a world leader in IoT and associated systems security.

Research Institute in Trustworthy Inter-connected Cyber-physical Systems (RITICS)

Along with 13 other institutions, Cardiff University forms part of the prestigious Research Institute in Trustworthy Inter-connected Cyber-physical Systems (RITICS).

RITICS was founded in 2014 by the UK Government and is coordinated by the Institute for Security Science and Technology (ISST) at Imperial College, London. It is sponsored by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) and Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).

The aim of RITICS is to understand and protect against threats to the UK’s critical systems, such as our transport, energy, high-value manufacturing, water and telecommunications services.
