Methods of Teaching

The basic teaching in the History and Welsh History Department is delivered through a mixture of formal lectures, seminars, presentations and tutorials. Small teaching groups and tutorials allow you to develop your skills in presenting your arguments, setting out your ideas and communicating your knowledge/understanding, both in writing and orally. Click here for information on student workloads.

Methods of Assessment

Most History modules are assessed by a combination of assessed essays and written examination papers - the latter held at the end of each year - but a range of other assessment methods are used, including source analysis in the Year Three advanced options.
