Research Methods - 10 credits (HST301)
In this module, students acquire or develop the basic skills required to carry out research projects at a professional level. The module is class-based. Assessment consists of a Research Design which is an extended essay (3000 words), or feasibility study, in which students demonstrate their skills of presentation and referencing, by focusing on the topic of research which they intend to study in depth for the dissertation. Major topics studied; bibliographic conventions referencing; defining and developing research questions; planning and managing research projects.
