This EPSRC funded research network on inverse problems will run between 28 December 2016 and 27 December 2019.

Aims

The aim of the network is to bring together groups in the UK interested in the mathematics of both pure and applied problems which arise in Inverse problems, with the goal of producing greater synergy. This is both in the spirit of and a development from the successful six month programme at the Isaac Newton Institute Cambridge, Inverse problems in 2011 and the recent (March 2014) follow up meeting, also at the Newton Institute.

Further, the network has objectives of the encouragement of research collaborations, reporting on new research findings and knowledge transfer activities including the organisation of regular network scientific meetings.

Small amounts of  funds will be available for members to bid for to make research visits to other sites and to have visitors, both from network members and extra-network scientists.

Research centres

Initially the network nodes will be based at the following universities:

  • Cambridge
  • Bath
  • Bristol
  • Cardiff
  • Edinburgh
  • Kent
  • Leeds
  • Manchester
  • Nottingham
  • Southampton
  • Swansea
  • UCL
