The School currently has three research groups: Cell and Molecular Biology, Clinical and Investigative Vision Sciences and Structural Biophysics.
The School is involved in many research projects, some of which are linked to our research groups. Find out more about our projects, and the topics chosen by our PhD students.
There are two research units based at the School: the Down's Syndrome Vision Research Unit and the Contact Lens and Anterior Eye Research Unit (CLAER).
'Cornea to Cortex' is a well established series of research seminars hosted by the School of Optometry and Vision Sciences at Cardiff University.
Research Ethics
All research (including audit / service evaluation) involving human subjects or human tissue, that takes place within the School and/or is conducted by members of the School, is subject to scrutiny by the School’s Research / Audit Ethics Committee.
