What Makes People Blink? Monmouth 6th form Investigate

1 November 2010

6th Form Day

Dr Christine Purslow recently introduced a class of sixth form students in South East Wales (Monmouth Science Initiative) to the research ideas surrounding human tears and blinking. Pupils had the opportunity to consider what makes people blink, and how the quality and quantity of your tears might affect the vision and comfort of your eyes. Pictured is one of the pupils undergoing tear film assessment using blue light. This lesson is typical of the kinds of classroom activities that the School can support for science education - please contact Dr Purslow if you wish to find out more.
