The Centre for Interdisciplinary Film & Visual Culture Research (IFVCR) at Cardiff University brings together the whole range of scholars whose work focuses on any of the many aspects of film and visual culture research.
It aims to foster and strengthen the film and visual culture research community, to support cross-School and interdisciplinary collaborations, research projects and PhD supervisions, and to provide a platform for airing and sharing all of the film and visual culture research that is carried out across the many Schools of Cardiff University.

Dis-Placing the East/West Binary: Aesthetic and Cultural Crossover in Film and Visual Culture will be a one day international symposium at Cardiff University, hosted by IFVCR.
Papers will explore contemporary displacements and transformations of the relations between East Asian and Euro-American film and visual culture, and will examine the complexity of ‘place’ in contemporary East/West film and visual culture.
The conference will take place on Friday 2nd November, from 10am to 7pm, in the School of Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies at Cardiff University, which is located close to the city centre, walking distance from Cardiff Central Rail Station and close to all city centre hotels.

Symposium Registration
Registration is required for all delegates, presenters and members of Cardiff University.
Registration for the full day including lunch and refreshments for delegates not giving a paper costs £60. For delegates giving a paper or HE students the fee is £30.
