Undergraduate Information for Centre for Language and Communication

The Cardiff Centre for Language and Communication Research (CLCR) is a well-established, internationally known group lecturers and scholars. The Centre specialises in work in English Language and Communication including all areas of Sociolinguistics, Applied Linguistics, Discourse Analysis, Psycholinguistics and Multimodal Communication. We thrive on the diversity of ideas that a rich mix of academic perspectives on language and communication and of social and cultural interests brings to academic debate and discussion. We are a friendly and collegial group and pride ourselves on our strong staff-student relations.

We have a very lively and fun loving EngLangCommSoc Society, which is run by our students and organises various social events from monthly socials with fancy dress, games and prizes to trips away and days out.

Open Days

The Centre for Language and Communication holds three Open Days in addition to the University Open Day in April and the Visit Day in September.
