Why did you choose Cardiff University as a place to study?

I chose to study at Cardiff because of the excellent reputation of the department.

What was the best thing about your time as a student at Cardiff?

Living in Cardiff and making friends.

What thing or person inspired you most whilst you were a Cardiff University student?

Having lectures from people working in the planning and transport industry and hearing about the work that they do on a day to day basis.

What one thing would you tell someone else about the School of Planning and Geography at Cardiff?

The opportunities it will open up for you in the future.

How did your degree most help you in the career or job you have now chosen?

My degree from Cardiff was regarded very highly by employers and definitely helped me get my first job.

Tell us a bit about your current job, how you got into what you are doing and what you enjoy about it most.

I am currently working for Hyder Consulting as a Transport Planner. My interests are transport policy and strategy. I enjoy most the variability of my job, no two days are ever the same.

What opportunities do you feel have opened up to you as a result of being a student at the Cardiff School of Planning and Geography?

My degree has helped me progress my career and because it is accredited, it is counting towards my chartership.

Tell us any interesting facts about yourself, hobbies or interests that you have.

Have just come back from 3 weeks in New Zealand and I loved it. I now want to travel the world.
