What was the best thing about your time as a student at Cardiff?

Nice place to study.

What thing or person inspired you most whilst you were a Cardiff University student?

The staff in the planning department.

What one thing would you tell someone else about the School of City & Regional Planning at Cardiff?

Work hard and drink the beer.

How did your degree most help you in the career or job you have now chosen?

It's a vocational course - I couldn't have done my current job without it.

Tell us a bit about your current job, how you got into what you are doing and what you enjoy about it most.

I manage development in Pembrokeshire. The job is very varied, I meet a lot of people and you can have a significant impact in terms of environmental protection.  I've been working in local and private practice elsewhere in Wales.

What opportunities do you feel have opened up to you as a result of being a student at the Cardiff School of City & Regional Planning?

My current career.

Tell us any interesting facts about yourself, hobbies or interests that you have.

I teach Welsh part-time and I've written books for Welsh learners: I started this work when I was at Cardiff University.  I also do triathlons (swimming, cycling and running) and I go rock climbing when I have the opportunity.
