The Cardiff School of City and Regional Planning (CPLAN) strives to be a centre of excellence in research, teaching and policy and practice, associated with the planning and management of cities and regions.

Postgraduate courses
The School runs a series of specialist masters courses which provide professional and academic training through a variety of routes.
Undergraduate courses
The School offers a four-year 'spatial planning' BSc, which includes a placement in year three, and a three-year BSc in Geography (Human) and Planning.
Research
The School plays a leading international role in its fields of expertise and its research has an agenda-setting influence in key debates on the development, management and sustainability of cities and regions.
It has been consistently rated the top planning school in the UK in terms of its research environment and number of world-leading researchers.

Yiming Wang has won the 2010 Springer Award for an outstanding paper in the field of Regional Science.
The School has the opportunity to put one candidate forward into the ESRC’s Open Competition.
