Cymraeg: living in our language 2026

Are you ready to experience Cardiff through our culture, community and language?

Monday 27 to Friday 31 July

Optional weekend in Cardiff and visit to the National Eisteddfod (1 to 4 August)

Our bespoke summer course brings students together from around the world to explore Cymraeg in the heart of Wales.

You'll have the opportunity for trips, conversations, cultural immersion and learning our language.

Our language and culture

An early form of the Celtic language of Cymraeg was once the majority language across Britain. Alongside thousands of indigenous and minoritised languages around the world, it would become marginalised and politically suppressed.

Today, Cymraeg is spoken by only around 18% of the Welsh population. Its story is one of resilience.

The language activism and cultural resistance of the 20th century wrought a renewal that means Cymraeg can be heard in the Senedd (Welsh Parliament), law courts, schools, universities, media, and festivals.

Genuinely the most amazing experience with an authentic lens on Welsh culture and Language
