Key facilities
Aberdare Hall was built in 1893 and retains many interesting period features. It is adjacent to the Cathays Park campus and offers both part catered and self catered accommodation.
Part catered accommodation includes a hot meal Monday to Friday (except during vacations/bank holidays) in one of the University restaurants. Meals are generally served between 15:00 and 18:30 and you can choose between Julian Hodge Building Restaurant or Trevithick Restaurant in the Queen's Buildings.
Please note: although Aberdare Hall is a women-only hall of residence, visitors who are men are permitted to visit and stay overnight. Aberdare Hall also has personnel who are men who work within the Hall on a daily basis.

I really enjoyed the communal living with fellow students and the variety of people you live with. It is very easy to meet new people, and the fact that Aberdare Hall is part-catered is particularly helpful in this way. It is in a great location - only 5 minutes from the Students’ Union and 10 minutes from the city centre.
