Originally a physicist, including working on the JET Joint Undertaking nuclear fusion experiment.
DPhil from the Department of Nuclear and Particle Physics, Oxford.
Recent research includes working as a project officer on the compound semiconductor strand of the HEFCW funded project Strategic Insight Programme .
