Overview

L.L.B (Hons), Barrister-at-Law(Inner Temple) and Solicitor. Jetsun graduated in 1990. She undertook her training at Thompsons Solicitors in Cardiff and was admitted as a solicitor in 1993. She stayed with Thompsons for a further two years where she specialised in personal injury litigation with an emphasis on employer's liability. In 1995 she was called to the Bar and completed a pupillage at St John's Chambers in Cardiff. During her time at St John's Chambers she gained considerable experience of representing clients in the higher and lower courts in the following areas of law; personal injury, product liability, professional negligence, contractual disputes, coroners inquests, and prosecutions on behalf of the Health and Safety Executive.

Jetsun left private practice in 1999 to join Cardiff University as a tutor on the Bar Vocational Course (BVC). Since that time she has had responsibility for a range of different subject units and has taught and assessed most of the subjects delivered by the course.

Jetsun is currently the Course Leader of the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC). In this capacity she has responsibility for leading and managing the course. In addition, Jetsun is partly responsible for submission advocacy and teaches, Trial Advocacy, Opinion Writing, Drafting and Conferencing.

Jetsun is an accredited advocacy trainer, she has a postgraduate diploma in education and she has successfully completed the ADR Group Commercial Mediator Trainer Course.

As Course Leader Jetsun attends the Bar Standards Board Bar Provider's meetings, she has been significantly involved in the decisions made concerning the delivery of the BPTC.

In the summer of 2011 Jetsun was appointed as a Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, Social Entitlement Chamber (fee paid).

Jetsun is, or has been:

  • An external examiner for the BSB
  • A regular member of Bar Standards Board monitoring panels
  • The BPTC providers representative on the BSB Education and Training Committee
  • An expert witness scheme accreditor.
  • An external examiner for the Solicitors Regulation Authority higher rights qualification<
  • An accreditation panel member for the Law Society of Scotland
  • A member of the General Teaching Council for Wales (public appointment)
