Overview

Jess is the Creative Cardiff Manager. She leads on day-to-day delivery of the network and its activities, as well as setting the strategic vision for what Creative Cardiff will do to support the development of a connected, collaborative and inclusive creative city and region. Having joined the team in September 2022, she’s especially keen to explore the ways in which the organisation can nurture the city’s creative communities to seize emerging opportunities and build resilience as they emerge from the uncertainty of Covid-19. 

Research

Jess is primarily interested in cultural policy development and advocacy, the creative workforce, creative place-making, sector mapping and skills and supportive interventions for the creative and cultural industries.

Teaching

Able to lead guest lectures, participate in panel discussions or facilitate seminars on creative and cultural industries related topics including: cultural policy and advocacy, network development, creative placemaking and creative business support, amongst others.

Biography

Originally from Merthyr Tydfil, Jess has spent the last 15+ years working in the culture and heritage sector and creative economy between Wales and London. This has included roles in The British Library, Central School of Ballet, National Dance Company Wales, Hay Festival and University of South Wales. Prior to joining Creative Cardiff she delivered the Mayor of London’s flagship Creative Enterprise Zones programme, in partnership across eight London boroughs.
