Overview
I am a qualified Mandarin Teacher and Teacher Trainer with 13 years’ teaching experience at both secondary and primary schools in the UK. I was also teaching Mandarin to adults’ learners for two years in London. I am currently working as a tutor in Mandarin at Cardiff University Confucius Institute as well as teach Chinese at a top private school in Cardiff.
I was a PGCE School Subject Mentor and have been working as a Chinese examiner for Edexcel, Cambridge Assessment and IBO over the last eight years.
In 2014 I was awarded The greatest contribution of promoting Chinese language and culture by the Lord Mayor of Bristol.
Biography
I hold a BA in Chinese Language and Literature (Nanning, China), a MA in TESOL (Warwick), a PGcert in teaching Chinese as a second language (SOAS) and a PGCE in Languages (Goldsmiths) with UK QTS.
In addition, I am currently studying a MRes in Social Research at UCL IOE and my research interests are: language teacher training and professional development; migrant teachers and teaching/learning Chinese as a second language.
