Biography

I graduated from the University of Wales College of Medicine (BDS, Wales) in 1992. Following graduation, I worked in Oral & Maxiilofacial Surgery positions. I passed the MSurgDent RCS examination in 2000. In 2000-2001 I undertook a taught clinical MSc in Dental Implantology at the Eastman Dental Hospital, which I passed with distinction. I was recognised as a Specialist in Oral Surgery in 2000.I am an examiner for the Tricollegiate MOralSurg Examination at the Royal College of Surgeons.

I work within the Advanced Therapies Group as a Senior Clinical Lecturer in Implantology and Oral Surgery.

Teaching

MSc in Dental Implantology

This is a taught clinical MSc programme. I have direct involvement in the following modules:

  • Clinical implantology module
  • Professional project module

This involves didactice teaching in small group seminars and clinical supervision in both the surgical and restorative aspects of dental implant treatment. I have supervised / co-supervised 42 Implantology MSc theses to completion with a further ongoing 9 MSc students.

Oral Surgery Training

I am a Royal College of Surgeons accredited trainer for Specilaist Oral Surgery trainees. This involves the clinical supervision of trainees. I am an Examination for the Tricollegiate MOralSurg RCS Exam.
