Research Assistant - Statistics

School of Medicine

Overview

I joined the Centre for Trials Research (CTR) in November 2020. My background is in Medical Statistics, Molecular biology and Human Genetics.

At the CTR, I am part of the Statistics team and currently I am involved in the following projects:
- COVID Health and Help-Seeking Behaviour Study (CABS)
- Procalcitonin: Evaluation of Antibiotic use in COVID-19 Hospitalised patients(PEACH)
- Pregnancy And Neonatal outcomes for women with COVID-19 (PAN-COVID)

Before joining CTR, I worked as a Postdoctoral Scientist at both Cambridge and Cardiff Universities. The main focus of my Cambridge position involved analysis of next generation DNA sequencing data in order to investigate genetic causes of rare severe non-syndromic Intellectual Disability in a cohort of ~2,000 patients. In Cardiff, I was involved in processing, analysis and interpretation of next generation DNA sequencing data (~6,000 participants) in order to dissect molecular mechanisms and genetic causes of a more common disorder, Alzheimer’s disease.
