Thanks for having a look at my page! I am a PhD student on the topic of language planning in Ireland. The title for my research at present is "The implementation of Language Planning in Ireland from 2012 onwards", under the supervison of Professor Diarmait Mac Giolla Chríost.

I am also a Gaeltacht Language Planning Officer with Tobar Dhuibhne, the West Kerry Langugage Plan, responsible for implementing the West Kerry Language Plan 2018 – 2025. The aim of the Plan is to increase the number of daily speakers of Irish in Corca Dhuibhne.

I teach Irish language modules for the School of Welsh also – Introduction to the Irish Language 1 & 2. Please feel free to get in touch regarding any teaching or research interests.

My academic background is rooted in Irish language law and policy, having received an MA in Welsh and Celtic Studies from Cardiff University in 2016 (Distinction), and a BCL in Law and Irish from University College Cork in 2015 (first-class honours). I spent several years travelling to lecture the Irish language in different scholarly capacities: as a Fulbright FLTA Scholar at the University of Notre Dame (2018 – 2019); as an ICUF Irish Language Scholar at Saint Mary's University, Halifax, Nova Scotia (2016 – 2018); at the School of Welsh in Cardiff University as a Government of Ireland Scholar (2015 - 2016); and at other institutions (the University of Limerick, 2021 - 2022; University of Montana in 2014; Coláistí Chorca Dhuibhne, 2017 - present, etc).
