Mr Alex Gill

(he/him)

Research student

Cardiff Business School

Overview

I am a PhD student in Economics, funded by the Hodge Foundation

I research intergenerational mobility, which concerns the extent to which an individual's circumstances in childhood are indicative of their success in later life. The research focuses on educational and health factors and how trends may differ across spatial lines within the UK.

I completed my MSc in Economics at Cardiff University, my MSc in Banking and Finance at Loughborough University and my BSc in Business Management and Economics at Swansea University.

Before returning to university to pursue my research, I worked as a graduate economist for IHS Markit (now S&P Global) and as an analyst at Bank of America.
